COMO Le Beauvallon: The Rebirth of a Legend

The wait is finally coming to an end on the Saint-Tropez peninsula, where sky and sea meet. As spring begins to unfold its first gentle charms along the French Riviera, breathing new life into the region’s gardens, a legendary name—long whispered as a well-kept secret—is set to bring the Gulf to life once again: COMO Le Beauvallon.

Between the legacy of a legendary Riviera, where every stone echoes the balls of yesteryear, and the success of a culinary experience elevated by multi-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, the estate is poised to write a new chapter in its history. Since April 24, 2026, this revitalization has promised to redefine Beauvallon—no longer just as a destination, but as the must-visit gathering place for those who know that, sometimes, legend can become reality.

The Renowned Establishment: Reopening of the Legendary Address

Reinventing an icon without betraying its past was the colossal challenge the COMO Group set for itself. This venue stood the test of time before closing its doors in 2008, leaving behind an aura that remained intact. The result lives up to the most demanding expectations. By transforming this property into a contemporary haven of peace, the hotel has established itself as the new gathering place for the international elite in Grimaud. Every space has been redesigned to offer perfect fluidity, with limited capacity to ensure absolute privacy. Between the central lounge opening onto the sea, the two elegant dining rooms, and the pergola bordering the pool, the estate exudes understated luxury. Here, every detail, chosen by architect Dorothée Delaye, celebrates the light of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. The promise is clear: to offer an experience where time seems to stand still.

The Spaces: An Estate Where Land, Sea, and Sky Meet

The charm of COMO Le Beauvallon lies in its connection to its surroundings. The property opens onto private gardens where umbrella pines—symbols of the region—stand alongside palm trees all the way to the water’s edge. These outdoor spaces are designed as open-air living rooms, inviting contemplation and well-being. For complete accessibility, the estate pushes the boundaries of comfort: at the bottom of the gardens, a private dock provides an exclusive connection to the village of Saint-Tropez, just an eight-minute boat ride away. This total immersion is designed for the most discerning guests, allowing yachts to anchor directly in front of the property. For a spectacular arrival, a dedicated area allows helicopters to land in the heart of the property, offering a memorable entrance.

Its History: From 1914 to a Riviera Legend

Le Beauvallon is not just a hotel to be discovered; it is a landmark with a story to tell. Built in 1914, it was originally designed to offer a winter retreat for European aristocrats seeking the mild Mediterranean climate. Over the decades, Le Beauvallon became a unique institution, attracting a cosmopolitan clientele that included royalty, captains of industry, and figures from the arts. F. Scott Fitzgerald, Audrey Hepburn, Winston Churchill: all these famous names appear in the estate’s guestbook, bearing witness to its historic prestige. During the interwar years, the gardens hosted legendary parties, making the venue the epicenter of Saint-Tropez society. These decades of prestige forged an aura that the COMO Group is now committed to carrying forward, transforming the legacy of 1914 into a hotel brand firmly focused on 2026.

Yannick Alléno: The Signature of a Visionary

At the heart of this renaissance, the choice of culinary director was a natural one. Multi-Michelin-starred chef Yannick Alléno, whom we previously featured in our article on Paris’s Right Bank, is taking the reins of the estate’s culinary offerings. Renowned for his uncompromising standards, Chef Alléno brings his unique vision to Le Beauvallon: a bold fusion of the vibrant flavors of Southeast Asia and the finesse of Mediterranean ingredients. Working alongside Executive Chef Adel Mannai, he has crafted a menu featuring dishes designed to be shared, transforming every lunch and dinner into a memorable experience. His presence at Beauvallon echoes his past successes, as he also excels in managing iconic establishments, such as Kinugawa, where he successfully established a strong identity that is now reflected in the idyllic setting of the Bay of Saint-Tropez.

Reopening Date: Set for April 24, 2026

The date is now set in stone: as of April 24, 2026, the estate’s gates have opened to the public. The facility is open seven days a week, offering generous hours so visitors can enjoy the season until October 5, 2026. With a large seating capacity at the Beauvallon restaurant, the hotel anticipates a distinguished clientele. Whether for hotel guests or outside visitors seeking excellence, this reopening is undoubtedly the major event of the year for the Gulf of Saint Tropez.
