After winter, spring is back on the French Riviera. From Bormes-les-Mimosas to Monaco, the French Riviera is full of heavenly places. The Magrey & Sons group has therefore imagined for its customers the perfect itinerary to enjoy the French Riviera and take advantage of each of its treasures.
Destination: the Var
Let's start our journey in the Var, more precisely in the medieval village of Bormes-les-Mimosas. This 12th century heritage, considered one of the most beautiful sites in France, offers its visitors the opportunity to stroll through its narrow streets and observe its monuments full of history. At noon, there is nothing better than the colorful markets of Provence to discover the local products and then taste them at the water's edge, on one of the wild beaches of this charming town. Sea lovers can rent a boat not far from there, at the port of Le Lavandou and venture to the Ile du Levant or moor in the azure waters of the Port-Cros national park. For those who prefer to stay on land, the hikes of the Massif des Maures offer a breathtaking view of the maritime border of Bormes-les-Mimosas and its surroundings.
From there, you may see the sumptuous cliffs of the bay of Briande, not far from Cap Taillat, which some people like to call "the 8th Wonder of the World". This natural border between La Croix-Valmer and Ramatuelle is a must-see in the region. In its green setting, a few kilometers away, the picturesque village of Ramatuelle welcomes its visitors in all tranquility, after a sunbath on the splendid beach of Pampelonne. Then, let's take a step up to explore the village of Gassin and its breathtaking view of the blue waters of the Mediterranean. In the distance, the snow-capped peaks of the Alps are a reminder of how great it is to live on the French Riviera.
The famous destination of Saint-Tropez does not escape our Mediterranean journey. This city, world famous for its port and its natural attractiveness, has a lot to offer with its rich calendar of events and its fine sandy beaches, nestled along the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. After a charming stopover in Port Grimaud, we head back to Sainte-Maxime: this pleasant seaside resort, a perfect blend of land and sea, will seduce everyone.
Unmissable Cannes
Cannes, known by all for its international film festival, is a must to visit, especially for its famous Croisette or its Suquet old district. The hilltop villages also offer a spectacular panorama. A prestigious neighborhood located on the Pointe Croisette, the Palm Beach offers a unique combination of restaurants, relaxation and, in the near future, high-end entertainment. This dreamy bay bordered by the Lérins Islands is a must-see in the South of France.
The hinterland of Cannes
The Cannes hinterland is full of picturesque villages and towns with a soft Provencal atmosphere, such as Grasse, Mouans-Sartoux, Opio, Châteauneuf or Valbonne. Let's stop in the village of Mougins, a preserved historical heritage of the French Riviera. Between gastronomy and culture, Mougins represents an architecturally idyllic setting, composed of charming ancestral streets, conducive to discovery.
Less than half an hour from Cannes, we find the charming city of Antibes: this incredible city of ramparts offers many cultural visits such as the Cathédrale Notre-Dame de l'Immaculée Conception or the Picasso museum. The Plateau de la Garoupe, located on the Antibes peninsula, rises to an altitude of 75 meters and again provides access to an extraordinary viewpoint.
Nice, capital of the Alpes-Maritimes department
Next stop: Nice, its Promenade des Anglais and its palm trees. The Old Nice opens its colorful streets, between restaurants and typical stores. The Colline du Château, accessible on foot or by elevator, offers a breathtaking view of the Baie des Anges and its pebble beach on one side and the Port district on the other.
Monaco and its rock
We end our trip in the city of Monaco, ideally located between our French regions and Italy. Also known as the "City of Princes", Monaco impresses everyone with its splendid palaces, its old town and its historic port. Car lovers will enjoy discovering this beautiful place hosting the prestigious Formula 1 Grand Prix which takes place each year in the streets of Monaco. As for the elegant casinos of Monte-Carlo, they will seduce the most reckless of their visitors.
