For more than a year now, the whole world has been living with the sanitary measures put in place in order to curb the Covid-19 pandemic. Amongst many local authorities in France, the Southern Region has strongly mobilised for its territory, from the protection of inhabitants and carers, to the safeguarding of businesses and economic recovery.

The lifting of lockdown restrictions in 4 stages for the months of may and june

The first stage of the end of lockdown on 3 May remained limited: non-essential businesses remained closed and the curfew was maintained at 7pm. However, travel restrictions were lifted and inter-regional travel was again allowed.

From 19 May, the French will be able to enjoy the open air later thanks to the shift of the curfew to 9pm. This is an opportunity to reopen terraces - with a limit of six people per table - and shops, museums, monuments, cinemas and theatres.

On 9 June, the curfew is to be extended to 11pm and teleworking is to be reduced. It will be the turn of cafés and restaurants to reopen - with a limit of 6 people per table - as well as that of sports halls. Events will also be able to resume their activities, with the reopening of trade fairs, cultural venues, fairs and sports establishments, for up to 5,000 people and on condition that they have a health pass.

Lastly, 30 June will mark the end of the curfew and the limits on the number of people in establishments open to the public will be lifted. This will depend on the local health situation.

Dynamism "back" on the French Riviera

The French Riviera is famous throughout the world for its renowned locations such as Cannes, Nice, Monaco, Menton and Saint-Tropez. A real paradise on Earth with its many assets, its dynamism and the influence of its festivals, the French Riviera is finally getting ready to welcome tourists for the summer season. Indeed, the resumption of various leisure activities - nautical, urban or cultural - will satisfy all visitors to the region.

Also, this summer will mark the resumption of economic activity on the French Riviera thanks to the postponement, in July, of one of the most mediatised events in the world, the Cannes International Film Festival, as well as the partial reopening of Nice International Airport, which will serve no less than 37 countries.

The Magrey & Sons Group is ready to welcome its summer clientele in the heart of its unique portfolio of prestigious properties.
